Where Do Punta Cana Proposals Take Place?
There are two main ways we organize marriage proposals in Punta Cana: at our Arena Gorda / White Sands proposal location or at/near the resort where you are staying.

Arena Gorda / White Sands Proposal Location
Most of our decorated proposal packages take place at our secluded, controlled-access location on Arena Gorda / White Sands, inside the Princess resort area.
There is no nearby public beach entrance, which makes it much easier for our team to prepare the décor discreetly and keep the setup hidden until the right moment.
The location also gives us access to useful infrastructure for real events: a restroom, Wi-Fi, shaded palm areas, a beach office and a covered veranda that can be used as a backup if the weather changes.
This is where we can create our larger setups, including floral heart arches, large “Marry Me” letters, Rose Path designs, romantic picnics and cold sparks.
Can You Propose at Your Own Resort?
Yes — for some proposal options.
If you prefer to stay at your hotel, we can organize a surprise proposal during a photoshoot and, depending on the resort, some smaller décor setups.
However, every Punta Cana resort has its own rules for outside photographers, decorators and event vendors. Some hotels allow outside professionals with advance permission, some require a Day Pass or vendor fee, and others do not allow outside décor or photographers at all.
For this reason, we always check the practical options based on your hotel before recommending a location.

The time of day is chosen not only for the atmosphere but also for the quality of the photographs.
In Punta Cana, the sun sets on the land side rather than over the ocean. Turquoise water is usually most visible during brighter daytime hours, while softer portrait light appears later in the afternoon.
For illuminated setups, we can continue into blue hour, when the décor and lights become more visible.
A Secluded, Controlled-Access Proposal Location
Most of our larger decorated proposals take place at Arena Gorda / White Sands inside the Princess resort area.
The location has no nearby public beach entrance and gives our team the space to prepare the setup discreetly before you arrive.
It also provides practical event infrastructure including shaded areas, a restroom, Wi-Fi, a beach office and a covered veranda.
Help With Resort Restrictions
If you want to propose at your own hotel, we will help you understand what is realistically possible.
Punta Cana resorts have different policies regarding outside photographers, decorators, Day Passes and vendor fees. Some allow outside professionals, while others restrict photography or décor.
We take these rules into account before recommending the location or package.
Weather and Backup Planning
Caribbean weather can change quickly, so we monitor conditions before the event.
When necessary, we can adjust the timing, reschedule for another available time or date, or use our covered veranda while waiting for passing rain at our Arena Gorda / White Sands location.
Transportation and Coordination
Round-trip transportation is included with most of our proposal packages at Arena Gorda / White Sands.
We coordinate the pickup time around your hotel location, traffic, setup preparation and the photography light so that you arrive at the right moment rather than simply at an arbitrary time.

My name is Mikhail Chernov. I’m a professional photographer and proposal planner based in Punta Cana.
I have more than 20 years of professional photography experience and have been working in the Dominican Republic for many years, photographing weddings, couples, families and surprise proposals in real resort and beach conditions.
For me, planning a proposal is not simply choosing a decoration package.
I help you decide where the proposal should take place, what time will give us the best light, how to keep the setup hidden, how transportation should work, and what is realistically possible at your resort.
Over the years, I have learned that small details make a big difference: the direction of the sun, shade from the palm trees, beach crowds, hotel access rules, weather, wind, the color of the water at different times of day, and even how your partner approaches the proposal setup.
My goal is to make the experience feel natural for both of you while making sure everything behind the scenes is carefully planned.

Can you organize a proposal at my Punta Cana resort?
Yes, depending on the resort and the type of proposal you choose.
A simple surprise proposal during a photoshoot can often take place on your hotel beach if outside photographers are permitted. Larger décor setups depend on the resort’s rules.
Some Punta Cana hotels require a Day Pass or outside-vendor fee, while others do not allow external photographers or decorators at all.

Where do your decorated proposal packages take place?
Most of our larger decorated proposals take place at our Arena Gorda / White Sands location inside the Princess resort area.
It is a secluded, controlled-access location with no nearby public beach entrance, which allows our team to prepare the setup discreetly before you arrive.
The location also has access to a restroom, Wi-Fi, shaded palm areas, a beach office and a covered veranda.

How do you keep the proposal a surprise?
We plan the scenario with you in advance.
One of the most natural options is to tell your partner that you are going to a professional photoshoot.
When you arrive, we begin with normal couple portraits in an area where the proposal setup is not visible. At the right moment, I distract and position your partner while you approach the setup.
Then I turn your partner toward you and photograph the real reaction as the proposal happens.
No blindfold is necessary.
What is the best time for a proposal in Punta Cana?
The best time depends on the type of proposal and the photographs you want.
For bright turquoise water, daytime generally gives the strongest Caribbean colors.
For softer portraits, we usually work later in the afternoon when the sunlight becomes less intense.
For illuminated setups, we can continue into blue hour after sunset so the candles, letters and decorative lights become more visible.
We choose the timing based on the season, weather, location and your package.
Does the sun set over the ocean in Punta Cana?
No. On the Punta Cana side of the Dominican Republic, the sun sets toward the land rather than directly over the ocean.
This is important when planning photographs. A beautiful sunset atmosphere is still possible, but the ocean itself will normally be behind you in the opposite direction from the setting sun.
If having the sun rising over the ocean is important to you, a sunrise proposal is another option.
What happens if it rains?
Short tropical showers are common in the Caribbean and often pass quickly.
We monitor the weather before the proposal and can adjust the timing when necessary.
If conditions are unsuitable, we may move the proposal to another available time or date.
At our Arena Gorda / White Sands location, we also have access to a covered veranda that can be used while waiting for passing rain or for selected proposal setups.
Is transportation included?
Round-trip transportation for two people is included with most proposal packages held at our Arena Gorda / White Sands location.
Pickup timing depends on your hotel, traffic, proposal setup and photography light.
For locations farther from our main proposal area or for additional guests, an extra transportation charge may apply.
How many photos will we receive?
Most of our main proposal packages include a professional photoshoot and at least 60 professionally edited photographs.
During a typical proposal session, hundreds of RAW images may be taken. I personally select the strongest photographs from the complete series and then professionally edit the final collection.
The exact number can vary depending on the package and the event.
How long does it take to receive the photos?
Proposal photographs are normally delivered within approximately two weeks after the event.
You will receive an online gallery where you can view and download the finished photographs.
Can we add professional video or drone footage?
Yes.
Professional video, drone footage, phone video, live violin or saxophone, bouquets and cold sparks can be added to selected packages depending on the location and availability.
Professional video normally requires approximately 1–1.5 months for editing and delivery.
Can I choose the flowers, colors or décor?
Many details can be adjusted, but not every setup can be changed without limits.
If you have a specific color palette, flower request or decoration idea, send it to us before booking.
Some custom elements, especially fresh flowers or special-order décor, require additional preparation time and may change the package price.
How do I book my proposal?
First, send us your proposal date, hotel and the package you are interested in.
Once we confirm availability and the plan, most bookings can be reserved with a deposit.
The remaining balance is normally paid on the day of the proposal.
Packages requiring advance purchases, special flowers, professional videography, yacht reservations or other custom arrangements may require a larger advance payment.
Booking & Payment Conditions
To reserve your proposal date, a deposit is required after we confirm availability, your package and the event plan.
For most proposal packages, the standard reservation deposit is $100. Once your booking is confirmed, your date and time are reserved specifically for your event and may no longer be offered to other clients.
Some packages and additional services require a larger advance payment. This may include professional videography, yacht reservations, musicians, fresh flowers, custom décor, or items that must be specially purchased or ordered for your event.
For custom décor, the advance payment may include the cost of materials, purchasing, international shipping, delivery and customs expenses. The required amount will always be confirmed with you before the order is placed.
The remaining balance is normally paid on the day of the proposal. Payment can be made in cash or through PayPal. PayPal payments are subject to a 6% processing fee.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
The standard reservation deposit is non-refundable if the client cancels the booking, because your date and time have been reserved and we may have declined other bookings for the same period.
If your travel plans change, please contact us as early as possible. When possible, we can transfer your reservation to another available date.
Advance payments made for third-party services or special orders — including professional videography, yacht reservations, musicians, fresh flowers and custom décor — may become non-refundable once the vendor has been booked or the order has been purchased, produced or shipped.
If changing the date creates additional costs from a third-party vendor or requires replacing custom items, those additional costs will be confirmed with you before the new arrangements are made.
If weather conditions make the planned proposal impractical, we will work with you to adjust the timing or reschedule the event to another available time or date. There is no additional rescheduling fee from our team due to weather. Third-party services will be transferred whenever the vendor’s availability and booking conditions allow.
